Washington state is poised to implement marriage equality laws that would legalize same sex marriage. Reuters reports that the state Senate is expected to pass a marriage equality bill tonight. Passage in the state House of Representatives is “virtually assured” and “Governor Christine Gregoire, a Democrat in her final year in office, announced last month she was backing the gay marriage bill.”
Microsoft, Nike, Starbucks and other local corporate powerhouses have supported the legislation.
