SFPD: It Gets Better
The San Francisco Police Department has made this wonderful It Gets Better video. It’s absolutely worth watching. It made me tear up a bit, and extremely proud to be a San Franciscan.
Here’s the statement that accompanies the video:
Jonathan Adler: It Gets Better
I’m a huge Jonathan Adler fan. And I’m so happy he’s done an It Gets Better video. Here’s to creativity, and here’s to it getting better!
Simon Doonan Says Gay Men Don’t Get Fat
Simon Doonan, former Barney’s creative director (and spouse of the very talented Jonathan Adler), has a new book out in which has says Gay Men Don’t Get Fat. He tells the New York Times: ”Gay chips are baked. Straight chips are deep-fried. It’s that simple.”
The premise of the book? The Times says is “that the vast range of the world’s culinary options can be boiled down to two core categories: gay food and straight food. Seeking out a balanced diet of both is the savviest way to stay svelte. Think of it, if you must, as bisexual eating.”
Some quick tips? Guacamole, Mexican food and English food are straight. Sushi and macarons are gay. Oh, and “organic olive oil, thick porridge, heaping helpings of wheat germ” are lesbian.
Find the book on Amazon.com. Read the New York Times interview with Doonan.
Dan Savage on Sharing a Bathroom With Extreme Gay Roommate
Dan Savage talks about what to do if you’re (presumably a straight person) sharing an apartment, and bathroom, with an “extremely gay” roommate. He dissects just what that means: is it “an inch of gay frosting on a foot thick straight cake” or is it “like the Queen Mary floating in a tub of lube.” It’s a must watch!
Dan Savage, Dessert on His Nipples
Dan Savage is on a college tour, and this hilarious click is from that tour. He talks answers questions about what dessert he likes licked off his nipples (for the record, he likes his nipples played with), and whether it’s really even a good idea to play with dessert while playing. You’ll have to watch to find out his answer — but, for the record, i don’t think it’s such a good idea.
