Madonna Superbowl Halftime Show

Watch Madonna’s Superbowl halftime show. She had sexy gladiators, Nicki Minaj, MIA(complete with controversy) and Cee Lo Green and Givenchy attire. The Washington Post says reviews were mixed, but all in all, I found the show quite enjoyable (even if it was a bit thematically disjointed).

Madonna Week Commences With New Album Art

Yes, it’s technically Superbowl week, leading up to Superbowl Sunday. But for some of us, the Superbowl will be all about Madonna’s half-time show. And so I’ve dubbed this “Madonna Week.”

We start Madonna Week with the cover art for her forthcoming album, MDNA.

On Thursday, her new single, “Give Me All Your Luvin’” will premiere on American Idol before hitting iTunes on Friday. The single features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.

Elton John Says Madonna Lip-Syncs

Elton John was interviewed on Good Morning America yesterday. Asked if he has any advice for Madonna, who is performing the half-time show, he said “Make sure you lip-sync good. Of course you have to play live but I don’t think you can.”

This follow’s Elton John’s husband David Furnish’s remarks that Madonna was “embarrassing,” “narcissistic” and “desperate” during her Golden Globes acceptance speech.

David Furnish Clarifies Madonna Remarks

We reported on the remarks David Furnish (Elton John’s spouse) made about Madonna’s Golden Globes win. Now, Furnish has clarified his remarks on Facebook. He said:

Wow! What a tempest in a teapot. My comments regarding The Golden Globes have been blown way out of proportion. My passion for our film “Gnomeo & Juliet” and belief in Elton‘s song really got my emotional juices going. But I must say for the record that I do believe Madonna is a great artist, and that Elton and I wish her all the best for next week’s premiere of the film “W.E.”.

Adam Levine and Bradley Cooper Award Madonna at Globes

Adam Levine and Bradley Cooper presented the Best Original Song Golden Globe to Madonna. Levine was clad in Tom Ford. Yum.

Oh, and this is the same award with which David Furnish took issue.

Elton John’s Husband David Furnish Disses Madonna’s Globe Win

David Furnish, Elton John’s husband, let off some steam on Facebook after Madonna bested Elton John at the Golden Globes, winning the award for best song. Madonna’s “Masterpiece” from W.E. beat Elton John’s “Hello Hello” from Gnomeo & Juliet. Furnish said:

Madonna. Best song???? Fuck off!!!!

Thanks for all your supportive comments and support. Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it’s [sic.] narcissism. And her critisism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.

TMZ reports that “Elton seemed particularly bitter towards Madonna before the awards … telling one reporter [Carson Daly] on the red carpet he believed Madge had no “f**kin’ chance” of emerging victorious.” Video below:

The award in question, for what it’s worth, was presented to Madonna by Adam Levine and Bradley Cooper. Yum.

Glee Wednesday: Mark Salling Rocks

It’s Thursday, and that means there was new Glee last night.  I was in Glee withdrawal, and will be in it again until next Wednesday.  To keep it at bay, I’ve rounded-up a whole bunch of Glee-ful-ness.

Glee’s hottest hottie (and Christian rock band member?!?), Mark Salling, appears on Wendy Williams

And speaking of Mark Salling, OhLaLaMag.com ran these hot Glee screen-captures of him a few weeks ago.

Oh, and if you’ve happened to miss an episode, NyMag.com runs them down here, or you can catch them on Hulu.

Finally, what does Mark Salling think of Madonna? He tells Just Jared:

JJ: Glee recently got the rights to use Madonna’s entire catalog of music. Is there a song of hers you’d like to perform?
MS:
I’ve been dreaming of singing Madonna since I was a little girl. (laughs) So this was a really big thing! I would say, what’s one of her songs? I mean. I’m a dude I don’t even know. (laughs)

Madonna Would Rather Get Run Over By A Train Than Marry

Madonna LettermanSo much for the rumors Madonna plans to marry Brasilian hottie Jesus Luz. Appearing on Letterman, she said, when asked if marriage was in the cards:

I think I’d rather get run over by a train.

See the rest of her Letterman hijinks here.
